Reception Admissions 2023/24

If your child was born between 1 September 2019 and 31 August 2020 you should already have applied for a Reception school place for September 2024. The deadline to apply for a Reception primary school place was 15 January 2024 and places have now been offered for September 2024. If your child was born between 1 September 2020 and 31 August 2021 you will need to apply for a Reception School place for September 2025.
School tours will start to take place in October 2024 for parents/carers with children who are due to start Reception in September 2025; however we warmly welcome you to join our in-year tour if you have a child who is in Year 1 or above (in-year applicants) and are moving into the area and looking for a local school to join.
Tours are approximately 1 hour long and are capped at 20 adults per tour. Places must be booked for each adult attending. Parents/carers should use our main entrance which is between 26 and 28 Dukes Avenue as our other entrance on Muswell Hill is locked during the day for safeguarding reasons.

Tuesday 21 May 2024 at 11.00am
We will publish additional dates in October 2024.
Haringey will publish their primary school admission information for September 2025 in due course, the timelines are likely to be similar to those for 2023/24 given below.

Starting Primary School in September 2024

Reception Offers and Acceptance
Reception Offers and Acceptance – what happens next?
Reception places are offered on 16 April. Once accepted all prospective parents/carers will be invited in the summer term, prior to admission in September, to an information coffee morning which is followed at a later date by a visit to the Reception class with your child. Children will be admitted under a phased approach, usually within three weeks of the start of term.
Waiting Lists
If, no places are available at Muswell Hill Primary a waiting list is held by Haringey School Admissions. Allocations will be made based on a space becoming available for the child at the top of the waiting lists and in the order of the admissions criteria for community schools. The school does not manage waiting list places. This list is coordinated and allocated by Haringey Council’s Schools Admissions Team.
